We have a 2 yr old Sheltie cross who suffered a concussion last year resulting in a 2 minute seizure. That was in November 2006. This last weekend he had another one that lasted 1 minute. The vet says there's nothing we can do for him but keep him comfortable while he's having an episode. My question is, is there anything we can include in his diet that might extend the time between episodes? Is there anything I can put on him during a siezure that will help? I've heard the Natives used to crush Valerian root and lay it on the head of someone suffering a seizure, would that help? I just hate seeing how scared he is after he comes to, I want to do something to help!I am assuming your dog is not on any pharmaceuticals, given none were mentioned.
