My cat eats lemongrass...is that safe?Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) has traditionally been used by humans as a tea to relieve digestive problems, as a flavouring in cooking and has been cultivated for its oil. Unfortunately, the oil would be my biggest concern as the cat does not metabolise a number of chemicals including volatile oils in the same way a human does, in fact many chemicals can be toxic. You may want to err on the side of caution and not allow your cat to eat lemongrass in future.
