My dog came down with a cough on the weekend and the vet has said it is Bronchtaic (spelling?). Today the vet says my dog has round worm. Are there any herbs my dog can take?It is difficult to answer this question as "bronchtaic" could at the very least be bronchitis (inflammation of the lining mucous membrane of the bronchioles), bronchiolitis (a lesion that forms in the bronchiole area) or bronchiectasis (dilatation of the bronchioles; a weakening of the area due to excessive coughing, often seen in chronic bronchitis). All of these are conditions that should be seen by a qualified health care professional on a personal consultation basis. Beyond dealing with the immediate condition which could be viral or bacterially based, you should also have a conversation regarding your dog's immune status. This discussion might include herbs, supplements as well as the preparation of a good, homemade diet. As for your question regarding round worms, please see the posting on this website (www.richters.com) entitled "Cats and Worms".
