Horses and Asparagus

I have recently read that horses love asparagus. Is it safe to give them large amounts of it and is it safe for all types of horses including miniatures?

I had not encountered this question before so went off to look for more information and came up empty, I'm afraid. I would think that in this, as in all things, moderation is the key. Horses enjoy a well-balanced diet with lots of variety and seasonal foods. If given asparagus in moderation and in season, all should be fine. As I've said, I wasn't able to find any information to dispute this statement.
