Herb of the Year for 2002

I have volunteered to write an article on the subject of herb of the year for the year book of the Russell District Hort. Society. I have tried many media but have been unable to ascertain which herb is the "Herb of the year for 2002". Can you please help me ?

For 2002 it is echinacea. We have added several new echinacea varieties to our selection (as of Jan. 1, 2002) in honour of it. The Herb of the Year is a promotion of the International Herb Association (www.iherb.org).
