Pelargonium (Scented Geranium) Seeds

I see that you offer seeds for pelargoniums. I would like information about the seeds these plants produce. Do they cross-pollinate, or will they come true from seed, or do just some come true from seed? Can I only get the mix of seeds from your company instead of a specific variety?

Most of the scented geraniums that we offer for sale are hybrids and if they are fertile (most are not) the seedlings growing from their seed will exhibit a big mixture of characters and very few will be very similar to the parent plant. A few varieties we offer are actually selected forms of a species and some will be fertile and produce seedlings that are very similar to the parent plant. Examples of the latter are : apple scented geranium, coconut scented geranium, peppermint scented geranium. Of the hybrids the only fertile ones that come to mind are fingerbowl lemon and attar of roses.
Since we have not been able to find a supplier who can supply a large enough number of seeds per variety to allow us to offer them in separate packets we mix them all together and thus allow the buyer to grow a few of as many varieties as possible.
