Baikal Scullcap

I planted some Baikal scullcap using Richters seeds Has anyone else ever done so ?

We assure you you have lots of company! As a matter of fact, the plant proved so popular that we decided to offer it as a plug tray.

Have you used it? What should I expect?

Baikal Scullcap is an important herb in Chinese medicine and is used for ailments such as fevers, colds, hypertension, insomnia, headaches, hepatitis, diphtheria and shingles. And to top it off it has very pretty blue flowers.
I personally have not used the herb and since I am not a herbalist, I cannot prescribe it for someone else either. There are some excellent books on Chinese herbs available such as "Chinese Herbal Medicine" by Daniel P Reid (B1740) that describe the uses and effects of this herb. The best source of information is Steven Foster's "Herbal Emissaries" which has a chapter devoted to this plant, including culture, harvest and uses.
