If I were to order hop seeds now would they have time to germinate and grow the hop flower this year or am I too late?
Most perennial plants will not flower until the second season and shrubs, vines and trees may make you wait much longer.
You would have to have excellent growing conditions for hop if the vines were to bloom for you even in the second year. Rooted cuttings will flower much more readily, because the cuttings came from mature plants and are therefore already programmed to flower. A seedling must be mature before the flowering programming kicks in and it will then bloom, if the triggering conditions such as lots of light are present as well.
