Anise-Hyssop Related to Hyssop?

I have Anise-hyssop (Agastache foeniculum). Does this plant have a botanical connection to Hyssop (Hyssopus officinalis)? When I tell people about this plant I am always asked if this of the Hyssop family of plants.

Yes, Agastache foeniculum and Hyssopus officinalis are both related. They belong to the mint family, known in Latin as the Labiatae or Lamiaceae. They both have square stems and snapdragon-like flowers as well as scented herbage, though anise-hyssop is much stronger and much more distinctive.
Both are sun-loving hardy perennials with attractive blue flowers. They are often grown just for their ornamental value.
