I would like to order medicinal herbs and I live in zone 7. It looks like Richters ships through November. Would I plant them inside and keep them inside until spring comes? I didn't see a collection of medicinal herbs and would like some help as a first time grower. Would you be able to suggest 5-10 medicinal herbs that would grow well in zone 7?We have a medicinal herb collection in our seed collections page found on page 39 in the 2010 catalogue- right after the order forms. It contains the seeds of cayenne, comfrey, valerian and calendula. These four would do just fine in zone 7, but if you are growing them from seed, you should wait to plant the annuals in the spring, but could plant the perennials, comfrey and valerian indoors and keep them in a sunny window until all danger of frost is past in the out of doors. The annuals could be started indoors a month before the last frost date in your area and planted out after that.
