What is the plant racao. I believe it comes from Puerto Rico. Can it be grown here? Do you have any instructions if it can?Racao is the Portuguese name for Mexican Coriander, Eryngium foetidum. It is sometimes spelled "recao" and unfortunately has many other common names. So referring to it by its Latin name is probably the clearest and least confusing. The plant is tropical and therefore has to be wintered indoors in colder than tropical climates. It is related to thistles and thus likes well-draining soil and lots of sun. It makes a good houseplant for a south facing window.
