Aphid Attacks

We have a really nice east facing wondow area in which I have been trying to grow an herb garden for the past three seasons. It always starts off quite well but invariably the plants get attacked by aphids. I am really desperate to find s solution as I love growing and using herbs but don't know quite what to do....

The best remedy is to spray with neem oil. It works very well for aphids. Spay at the rate of one to two teaspoons of neem oil with about one teaspoon of dishwashing detergent or concentrated insecticidal soap (Safer's available from Richters as well as neem oil) in one litre (one quart) of water. Repeat in one week. Neem oil smells like rotten onions, but is very safe and the smell only lasts one day.
