Lavender Growing and Using

How would you grow lavender? What is the best brand/variety to buy? What can we do to use it to relax us. How could we use it? And could we use it in our baths to help relax us too?

Grow lavender in a sunny spot in well-draining soil. If you want to use the lavender to induce relaxation, then one of the English lavenders is best. Choose one from the catalogue that will be winter hardy in your area. Harvest the flowers just as the stem of flowers begins to open, dry in the shade and use the flowers to scent the air in a potpourri or drop a good couple of handfuls of flowers into your bath water.
