Edible Fig Pot Size

Some months ago, you responded to a question I had about growing an edible fig tree. I neglected to ask you what size container you had grown yours in. I would appreciate knowing this. We have two greenhouses here in Brandon who sell half barrels and the like. Would that be big enough to start? What is your suggestion?

Those barrels will allow you to grow a handsome little tree. I grew mine in an 20cm clay pot . It was a bit scrawny, but it kept producing fruit anyway. A tough little tree!
