I am looking for some info about growing conditions for witch hazel. We have a pretty temperate climate here on Salt Spring Island. I have only seen photos when it is in bloom and don't know what the foliage looks like. Is it slow growing?
We do not grow witch-hazel ourselves. Checking the internet I found that its leaves are very much like those of the Hazel Nut or an Ash tree. They are somewhat heart-shaped, have toothed edges and prominent veins. They make medium sized shrubs and I would guess are not fast growing in general, but in your benign climate that may not be so.
