I have been trying to find buckwheat seed that gives a good nectar source for bees and buckwheat honey. The new varieties I have tried to grow, grow well, but do not produce buckwheat honey. Is your variety a good source for nectar?
If it is, I will purchase $120 worth. Thanks.
To be honest we were not aware that nectar yields in buckwheat can be a problem for beekeepers. Our variety is an unnamed standard variety we get from a Canadian grower. It is the same variety we have sold for more than a decade and so far we have not heard of any problems with nectar yields for beekeeping.
