I am impressed when I read about your being a specialist in growing herb plants. I would appreciate your help on where can I order the Saponaria officinalis (soapwort) and if planted, would it survive the warm weather in sandy soil?
Since you don't mention what climatic zone you want to grow the plant in, let me first mention that Soapwort survives in Zones 3 to 9 . If you don't know your climatic zone then check the zone maps on our web-site www.richters.com found in "Richters InfoCentre" under "News &Info". In the same section under "Richters Herb Growing Infobase" type in "soapwort" to get more growing information.
Richters sells the seed as well as plants. See catalogue number S5490 and P5490.
The plant will grow in any type of soil and as a matter of fact grows quite aggressively in sandy soil.
