Jasmine on a Windowsill

In your catalogue you mention that your Jasminum officinale affine is suitable for window or greenhouse and can be pruned. Could you please advise which window is best between south and east (exposed to sun or shade) and also what period of year it should be pruned.

In the garden, jasmine can take a bit of half shade, but in the relatively low light conditions in the house, give it as much light as you can. In your case that would be the sunny south window.
When the plant is mature enough to bloom, it will do so in the summer. After blooming is the right time to prune the plant. This will likely be in the fall. Be careful not to be too radical with the pruning. A good general guide is to never cut off more than one third of the plant. If you prune away too much, then the roots won't get enough food and will die.
