I purchased an Egyptian onion about 6 months ago. It's wonderful. Its' starting to produce onions. If I want to plant the ones it has do I let them dry first to multiply my plants?I presume your plant produced an inflorescence and the flowers on it are turning into little bulbs. Leave them on the mother plant until the stem turns yellow - probably in late summer. This will allow the bulbs to get sufficiently large to easily survive on their own. After separating the bulbils leave them for a few days in a dry spot before planting, so that any wounds can callus over. This will prevent pathogens from getting into the bulblet when you plant it.
