Before ordering lavender plants, please e-mail me with advice on whether the San Francisco weather is conducive to growing lavenders outdoors. If not, are there other suitable herbs for outdoor growing in S.F.?San Francisco is in zone 9 to 10. I think Canary Island, fernleaf, French, grosso, Spanish and Spanish grey lavenders would do well in your area. Plant them in a sunny spot and if your winters are very wet, protect the plants from most of the rain during the winter.
