Roman Chamomile Seeding Rates

I am interested in buying some Roman chamomile seeds from you. Would you please tell me what your expected seed germination rate is with Roman chamomile, and how many seeds per gram are typical. I plan to start them in seed trays in the spring or could sow directly in soil. Would you also tell me what is your recommended number of plants per square foot / meter when used as a ground cover.

The germination rate of Roman chamomile seed is excellent. It is usually between 75 to 90 percent.
There are about 10,000 seeds per gram. You need about 1 gram to produce 1000 plants (when seeds are this small, losses of seedlings are fairly high). For direct sowing you need about 1 kilogram per hectare.
To produce a chamomile lawn you should space seedlings about 5 centimeters apart each way if they are small or about 10 centimeters apart if the plants are about mature. This translates to 100 to 400 plants per square meter. If you have the patience to control weeds diligently, you could plant further apart and wait for the plants to fill in the spaces in a year or more.
