We are in Zone 8 - Coastal Northwest Florida. Lovage doesn't seem to do well here regardless of whether we try indoors or out. What are the ideal growing conditions for this plant? Our reference Book "Hortus Third" lists your area as being in zone 9. This means that lovage will have a hard time outside during the summer. It is supposed to be hardy in zones 5 to 8. It likes sun to half shade, and a rich, deep, moist soil of pH 5.5 to 7.8.
