Are eucalyptus plants hard to grow? I just got one and it looked a little down when I recieved it, but I planted it as directed, and it didn't take. I got 10 other plants, and they all took. Also is there any guarantee with the plants ordered?Eucalyptus is generally quite easy to grow. The one problem we have noticed is that they do not like their roots to be disturbed too much. In fact, we try to grow them in such a way that the roots do not come out of the bottom of the pot to minimize the risk of transplant shock. Unfortunately, it is not possible to eliminate the risk completely, and some eucalyptus plants just don't survive the shock of shipping and transplanting.
