Tobacco & Pepper Spray

How well does the combination of 1/8 oz of tobacco dust with 1 teasp. of dish soap and 1 tablesp. of pepper mixed together work for a natural pesticide spray for all growing things? I've heard that it's safe and nontoxic.

Your spray should work quite well, as long as you repeat it regularly. It might work even better if you used insecticidal soap rather than dishwash soap. Do wash produce before using it because tobacco residues can be toxic!
Your spray should be effective against aphids, thrips, whiteflies and mites – all common pests of potted plants and garden plants. As with most natural pesticides, repeat applications are necessary to get pests under control. And make sure you apply the spray directly on the pests in question. Mites, for example, reside mostly on the undersides of leaves.
