Can I grow Echinacea in Walnut Creek, California? Winter temperatures are 32-44 degrees Fahrenheit and 75-110 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer. Can it be grown in the shade or does it need full sun? How long does it take to ship three plants.
Echinacea purpurea can be grown in zones 2-10, E. angustifolia, and E. pallida in zones 3-9 If you are in zone 9 you could grow all three species. If you are in zone 10, you probably can't realistically grow anything but E. purpurea. Keep them moist to create a local cooler micro-environment during hot spells.
