Flea Control Using Pennyroyal

I understand that Pennyroyal will repel fleas and fleas hate it. Is it safe to rub the leaves on my dog's coat?

The only concern is if your dog is pregnant because pennyroyal can cause abortions. Otherwise, it appears to be quite safe, especially if you use the fresh leaves and not the more concentrated oil of pennyroyal.
