I don't know if you are the person to ask these questions: I want to grow St. johns's wort to make the red flower oil to use myself. Would 3 plants give me enough for a little oil and take 2 yrs or morebefore get much?
I want to grow feverfew because I take it for HAs mainly caused byneck degeneration old
car whiplash etc. I take it in capsule form. If I grow it wouldtincture form be best to make
and does one use the leaves for that? Would 3 plants to grow besufficient for one person?
Would it take 2 yr or more before can use? I know it spreads.Tincture or dried and fresh aerial parts can be used with equal sucess. Tincture lasts later, so lots can be made and stored. 3 plants would be sufficent to make enough for yourself the first year.
Do deer eat these two plants?I think it depends on the deer and the area you are in. The deer here do not bother my plants but some deer are less picky than others and will eat almost anything.
I take Boswella and it seems to help a little with reducing pain, inflammation with arthritis
etc. Is there any thing comparable I can grow? I live in CTYou can grow plants that are high in volatile oils and that oil can be used topically to reduce pain and inflammation. Examples would be mints, oregano, lavender, thyme, rosemary, etc. In terms of internal anti-inflammatories, willow bark, meadowsweet (Filipendula alba), prickly ash or cayenne can be grown.
