I am told that there are capsules made from poppy seeds that one can take to control cholesterol. Are you familiar with dosage, etc.I believe that what you are referring to is the essential fatty acid content of the seeds. Essential fatty acids have been researched and shown to help increase the good cholesterol whilst at the same time lower bad cholesterol. A general dosage is 1 to 3 tablespoons of these good fats per day. You would need to eat several tablespoons of these seeds to get an adequate dose of essential fatty acids if this is your only dietary source. Other foods that are high in essential fatty acids are flax seed oil, walnut oil, hemp oil and fish oils.
