I have a congestion in my lungs, with a deep, wracking cough. My doctor has told me I have a slight lung infection that causes cough. An herbalist that I spoke with recommended statis root tincture several times a day.I believe the herb is actually statice root (Statice caroliniana), and is a bitter and astringent herb usually used for diarrhea and other digestive upsets as well as a gargle and mouth wash to soothe an irritated throat or mucous membrane and gums.
Have you heard of this remedy? I am familiar with several herbs, but have really never heard of statis root. I have asked for it at several health stores, but have been unable to find it anywhere. Could you recommend another that will work on the infection and cough?
