I am interested in doing a 30 day cleanse and wanted to make sure that I wouldn't be negating the effects of the pill. Are there certain herbs to avoid? Please advise.
Herbs recommended for cleansing are not usually herbs that affect hormone levels, so they are safe to take with birth control pills. Herbs that are not recommended with birth control pills are St. John's wort, which can affect the metabolism of the drug in your system, making it ineffective, and herbs that affect hormone levels, such as Vitex agnus-castus (chasteberry).
