I understand that Evening Primrose helps people with major depression. When I take it, I'm sweating all the time. Does this go away with time or is it something that will always remain?
Are there any herbs you would recommend for major depression as I suffer from it and am unable to tolerate the majority of drugs except for Prozac, which doesn't seem to help that much. I'm currently taking 80mg of Prozac.
Evening primrose oil can effect your hormone balance to cause sweating. Other oils, especially fish oils, are used to combat major depression. You can see some of the research on fish oils and major depression by using the Google search (www.google.com) and entering " 'major depression' oils " for the google search.
I recommend that you consult with a qualified natural practitioner like a medical or clinical herbalist or a naturopath, who can work with you to explore possible factors in your depression, advise you of supplement doses and monitor your progress with drugs, herbs, diet and supplements. It is dangerous to change your dose of prescribed medication without the advice of a qualified medical practitioner.
