My son-in-law has ringworm in the scalp. The one doctor missed it in his report and the dermatologist picked up on it and put him on a medication that he has to be on for 3 months. I would appreciate any insight you may have.Three months is the usual time period for ridding the body of the ringworm (tinea) fungus. Both internal and external medication should be used. If your son-in-law does not have both internal and external medication, you can find effective preparations at a good health food store. For external preparations, there are shampoos and lotions that are designed to fight the ringworm virus on the scalp. Ask a knowledgeable health food store sales person for product recommendations.
