I recently bought an EFA [Essential Fatty Acid] blend for my child. I was told that it was supposed to help him to do better in school – to help keep him focused on his school work. I bought it 5 days ago and have not seen any results. Would you please tell me if I should keep giving this to him? The lady that I bought it from said that I would see results in three days.An essential fatty acid supplement will help a child become more focused if the child has a deficiency of essential fatty acids. It is common for both adults and children to be deficient in EFAs. To realize a permanent benefit, supplementation should be continued for 2 to 3 months, and the diet should include good sources of essential fatty acids, such as a wide variety of nuts and seeds and good quality salad oils. (Note: peanuts are usually not advised because of the risk of being a food allergy or food sensitivity). For information on clinical studies related to the use of EFAs with attention deficit disorder, please
