Are there Side Effects or Precautions to Horny Goat Weed?

My husband just bought some horny goat weed. I was wondering if there are side effects or precautions on this herb. He consumes alcohol on a daily basis. Thanks for any info.

As far as I know, there is no evidence to show whether or not horny goat weed causes side effects. Its action is thought to be through modifying hormones, including the adrenal "fight or flight" hormones. Precautions should be taken: it should not be used long term and it should not be used by people with heart conditions or high blood pressure.
