Clivers Tincture: How to Use?

I purchased a bottle of super strength clivers herb. It tells you to put 3-5 drops in water 3 times daily before meals. When I purchased this it said that it worked for freckles. I cannot have any caffeine, none whatsoever. What exactly is it for. It didn't come with any papers other than what's writen on the bottle, which does not tell much, unless your familiar with the product.

Clivers (also spelled "cleavers") is mainly used for external applications, but internally it is used for stomach and intestinal catarrh and for irritation of intestines and urinary tract. Externally it is a popular remedy for skin problems. Typically the juice of a fresh plant or a tea of the dried leaves are used. The juice or tea are applied daily to the affected areas. This information comes from John Lust's "The Herb Book" which is currently out-of-print (but used copies should be available). "Bartram's Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine" is in print and it has very reliable information on how to use herbs also.
