The doctor has tried 3-4 different medications for hypertension. They have not made a difference in blood pressure and also side effects with all of them. I recently started with hawthorn berry, What exactly do you know about this herb? Are there are any side effects, that I may experience? Do you know of any other herb that will help with my problem?Hawthorn is a thorny shrub found in the temperate regions of Europe, northeastern United States and Canada. The flowering tops and the berries are used in herbal medicine. Hawthorn is a heart tonic, improving coronary circulation. This herb has been used for many centuries by Native Americans, Europeans and Chinese, in heart and circulation problems. There are rarely any side effects. It does not usually, used on its own, decrease blood pressure. I recommend that you consult with a qualified medical or clinical herbalist, who will do a full assessment of your health condition and advise you on diet, herbs, and lifestyle factors that are applicable for your individual health picture. The herbalist will take into consideration any drugs that you are taking. This is much more effective, and cheaper in the long term, than self- medication. You should inform your doctor of any herbs that you are taking.
