My husband is a diabetic taking metmorfin. He has his disease pretty much under control through diet and exercise. I wondered what herbal medicines you would recommend for him (given this is the flu season and I doubt that he will get a flu shot). He also takes medicine for high blood pressure (avapro, a diuretic) and medicine for cholesterol and triglyceride. It is more medicine than I like to think about.I recommend that if your husband is interested in alternatives to his drugs, or natural methods to help him with any side effects of his drugs, he consult with an experienced natural practitioner, such as a medical or clinical herbalist, or a naturopath. A full health assessment is necessary to determine health needs before making suggestions about using natural methods to improve his health. For example, if improvements are advisable for your husband's diet, digestive system or bowel elimination, or if nervous stress is involved, these will be given first priority in the practitioners recommendations. When the natural practitioner assesses your husband's needs, he or she will take his current medications into consideration before making recommendations.
