My saliva is not very good and I get dry mouth very easily. I do have acid reflux and I am in the process of getting surgery to fix the sphincter at the end of my esophagus.Thomas Bartram, in "Bartram's Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine" (available at Richters) lists red clover tea and bitters to promote saliva. Chamomile tea is a bitter that promotes saliva. Bitter foods include dandelion leaf, chicory, endive, radicchio, rapini, and watercress. Other herbs that promote saliva include ginger and cardamom. I don't know whether there are any herbal pills that promote saliva. The herb or bitter food needs to come into contact with your mouth in order to promote saliva, so it is not effective to swallow a pill.
Is there a herb I can take to promote saliva?
I know there is parsley but do they make these in pills for dry mouth?
