Six weeks ago I got the Herpes Zoster virus, commonly known as shingles.? It broke out as a rash at the top of my spinal cord at the base of my head. This affected the nerve cord to the right ear and I also fell victim to Bell's Palsy as a result. The right side of my head is paralyzed. My right face, eye, mouth, tongue. I am 50 years old. I am trying everything I know to do, and that is very little. The doctors mis-diagnosed me from the very first day. It wasn't until the third day that a doctor finally knew what the problem was and medicated me with acylovir and prednisone. I am off of these now and am doing what I can to try and return my face back to normal. I am drinking Noni tea every morning and massaging the muscles of my head and face. Is there anything that you can recommend that I do? I will also tell you that I have high blood pressure and I am easily stressed. Part of the problem to begin with.Bell's palsy often results from a herpes virus infection. St. John's wort, both internally as a tincture (5 ml, three times daily), and externally as an oil, is often very effective. St; John's wort is anti-viral, and a nerve restorative, particularly effective with the facial nerves. Because it also has sedative properties, it may help you with stress.
