Herbs to Replace Coumadin in Deep Vein Thrombosis

Would like to know more about the best herb(s) I could use, as I'm currently taking Coumadin (rat poison) to keep my blood thinned. I'm considered a high risk for blood clots. I would like not to take this stuff and would prefer to use natural forms of herbs or derivatives that will do the same thing. Apparently I have deep vein thrombosis problems, so need some advice (other than a doctor's) on what is best for helping blood circulation and cleaning out the veins. Any help you can provide would be totally appreciated.
There are several herbs used to improve circulation and thin the blood, but I cannot recommend that you stop taking coumadin. This decision should be made with your doctor in consultation with a natural health practitioner. A natural practitioner, such as a medical herbalist or a naturopath, can assess the cause and recommend a diet, herbs and supplements to strengthen the blood vessels, improve blood flow and eventually help you to get off the coumadin.
There are several previous answers to questions about leg circulation on our web site. Please go to our web site at www.richters.com, and choose "Q&A". Enter "circulation" for the search. The titles "Gotu Kola for Cellulite and Leg Circulation", " Herbs for Circulation while on Coumadin Medication", and "Horse Chestnut and Circulation" are particularly applicable.
