Basil for Depression while on Birth Control Pills?

My girlfriend has anxiety. I suggested she take holy basil. I would like to know if there is any interaction between basil and the pill.

I don't know of a reason why any of the basil species should be contraindicated while on the birth control pill. It has some effect on sex hormones, by its action as an adrenal stimulant and a galactagogue (encouraging mother?s milk production), but should not significantly affect the particular sex hormones regulated by the various types of birth control pills.
