On the subject of rhinitis your website says you can put a sliver of garlic on the polyp in the nose. Can this hurt the mucus membrane as it is very strong and when I did this the next day I seemed to be a little blocked up.
I read somewhere where goldenseal should not be used with eucalyptus. Can Plantain be used with eucalyptus since the website reply says it repairs the mucous membranes of the nose.
I would like to get more info on this subject if I can.
Eucalyptus is an antiseptic that works to destroy microbes on the mucous membranes, including those of the nose. Eucalyptus is antagonistic with Goldenseal: they must not be used together. This restriction does not apply to Plantain, which is useful in helping to repair mucous membrane.
Garlic is well recognized as useful in allergies and is generally safe, but there are documented cases of sensitivity. In your case, I suggest that you discontinue use.
Prolonged rhinitis, sinusitis and polyps are often immune sensitivity reactions. It is important to avoid allergens and improve immunity. You may find the book "The Complete Guide to Food Allergy and Intolerance" by Professor Jonathon Brostoff and Linda Gamlin (Bloomsbury Publishing Limited) helpful in determining which foods to avoid. Antioxidants (Vitamins A, C, E, and selenium) help to improve immunity: maintain a diet high in fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, oily fish and seaweeds. Ensure that your elimination systems are functioning well to avoid a build up of waste material, and engage in daily exercise.
