I was wanting to know more about anti-aging/skin purifying herbs. Someone had mentioned horsetail to me in it's aqueous form, however, I've learned there is some nicotine in this herb. Which herbs would you recommend for anti-aging/skin purifying. I currently take Bee pollen, vitamin E & C pills. Some of the best skin foods are fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Vitamin A is required for healthy skin. Vitamin A rich food includes the orange and green fruits and vegetables, like apricots, oranges, peppers, carrots and broccoli. Sunflower, pumpkin and sesame seeds are rich in zinc and essential fatty acids that help to repair damaged skin cells. Flax seeds and oily fish, like salmon, sardines and mackerel provide omega-3 fatty acids. Dark green herbs and vegetables contain chlorophyll, minerals and antioxidants to counter the free radicals that cause skin damage: spinach, kale, dandelion greens, watercress, chickweed. Silicon is needed for soft, healthy skin. Silicon is found in the skins of fresh, organic fruit and vegetables, especially Jerusalem artichoke, radish, oats, garlic and seaweeds. Horsetail is rich in silicon and other minerals. It does contain nicotine, but I haven't heard of that being problematic. Horsetail is very high in minerals that can cause kidney damage if taken longer than 6 weeks.
