I am very new to the internet but came across your site while looking for info on Pau D'Arco. It is the main ingredient in a loose tea that I am using this week. What do you know about Pau d'Arco? I took cipro for urinary tract infection (UTI) and had flu symptom side effects for the entire 7 days. I'm going to try natural this time. I'm 47 and this week is only the second UTI I've had in my life. Any insight? I saw that Saw Palmetto was an herb to use on the Q&A section and will add that to the Echinaforce and tea.Pau d'arco (Tabebuia avellanedae), also known as Lapacho or Taheebo, is antimicrobial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and immune system supportive. These are all desirable herb actions for urinary tract infections. Research has shown anti-cancer actions, backing up its historic use for this purpose by the Inca's. Pau d'arco is usually taken as a tea, simmering 15 grams of bark in two cups of water for 20 minutes. The recommended dosage is three cups daily.
