I'm taking ashwagandha root, and in the ingredients it reads "contains grain-alcohol 60-65%". What is this? And is it okay to take this with Women's Dong Quai Treasure, which contains: 256mg Dong quai, 160mg Cramp Bark, 160mg False Unicorn Root, 80mg Blue Cohosh?Grain alcohol, ethanol or ethyl alcohol, is a safe solvent used in tincture-making to extract the medicinal constituents from herbs. Ashwaganda (Withania somnifera) is anti-inflammatory and a tonic herb for the nervous and reproductive systems. It is often referred to as the Indian Ginseng, having similar qualities of improving immunity and energy. There is no reason for a negative interaction with the herbs in your formula.
