I was told if you mix eucalyptus oil and licorice with honey that it can help a child with a cough. We have been told the child has allergies which he has been on medicines for three months. Before that we were told he has asthma which he uses a machine with albuterol. None of the medicines have worked or the machine. Can you tell me about the eucalyptus? The child has a bad cough where he coughs constantly and has a constant runny nose. Many research studies have shown that in most cases of allergies and asthma, especially in children, symptoms disappear when food allergens are eliminated from the diet. The most common food allergens are dairy products and gluten. The most effective way to find the allergens is to eliminate the food completely from the diet for a period of two weeks and note any changes in symptoms. In eliminating dairy products, for example, all purchased foods must be checked for dairy ingredient additives such as lactose and whey that are sometimes contained in food such as margarine.
