I have a 7 year old son who has a hard time paying attention. He takes a multi-vitamin every morning but it does not seem to help him concentrate. Is there a specific herb or vitamin that helps increase attention spans?
Difficulty paying attention can be related to allergies and nutrition. Food allergies can be tested by eliminating common allergens such as eggs, wheat, tomatoes, oranges, chocolate and dairy products form the diet. Nutritional causes can be tested by removing sugar, food colourings, flavourings and food preservatives from the diet and increasing fresh fruit and vegetables. Goat's milk products are a good substitute for dairy, and breads without wheat or gluten are available. A visit to a health food store can give you more ideas on alternatives to these products. An improvement is often noticed within 2 weeks.
