What is a good remedy for nausea from the flu/cold?
Nausea from 'flu and colds may be settled with one or a combination of the following teas. If the nausea persists for more than a couple of days, you should consult a practitioner.
German Chamomile: infuse a teaspoon of the dried herb in a cup of boiling water for 15 minutes. Chamomile has relaxing, anti-inflammatory, anti-nausea, and pain relief actions that are effective but gentle enough for even a child.
Ginger relieves spasm and stimulates circulation. Simmer a teaspoon of the chopped fresh root in a cup of water for 15 minutes. Because of its stimulating properties, is best taken with food or sipped in small quantities.
Peppermint relieves spasm and improves digestion. A tea can be made by infusing a sprig of fresh peppermint or a teaspoon of the dried herb for each cup of boiling water in a teapot for 10 minutes.
Cinnamon is a warming astringent to the stomach. Infuse a quarter teaspoon of the bark in a cup of boiling water for 15 minutes.
