Vitex and Clomid

I am a 23 year old that has tried clomid to gain pregnancy. Someone advised me of a herb called 'Vitex' to help this process along. What is the Vitex function? Is it safe to continue the clomid with the Vitex? The results of all my infertility testing basically says I do not ovulate.

Vitex agnus-castus balances the release of sex hormones from the pituitary gland. It is useful in treating symptoms of hormone imbalance such as pre-menstrual or menopausal symptoms, irregular periods, ovarian insufficiency, acne. Because it stimulates progesterone production, it must not be taken with drugs containing progesterone.
