Could you please tell me if there are any herbs that will help rebuild joints (knees and shoulders). I recently tore the cartilage in my shoulder, and ever since I started running my knees won't stop aching.
Rebuilding connective tissue material in and around the joints requires a diet high in vitamins and minerals, and low in substances that add the stress of toxins to your system. Avoid coffee, tea, processed foods, sugar, beef, pork and white flour products, and add seafood, fruit and vegetables to your diet.
The herb Horsetail contains silica, which helps to rebuild connective tissue by maintaining the elasticity and removing irritating chemicals such as urates, uric acid and cellulites. This is best taken in the form of a juice, available at health food stores.
Natural anti-inflammatory herbs that also help to eliminate inflammation causing wastes are: Meadowsweet, Devil's Claw, Wild Yam and Licorice. Licorice should not be taken in cases of high blood pressure.
